Summary
Email consolidation for the UK entity of a major global insurance organisation.
Challenge
Apart from the challenge of migrating 12,000 user accounts, the UK email infrastructure had also become highly integrated into other IT systems and services. In addition, the business received regular and granular reports about email usage, routing and read receipts to mitigate a past experience of fraud.
Approach
An initial audit identified shortcomings of the proposed centralised platform, which resulted in the delivery of a number of change requests to uplift the service. An intensive period of testing was delivered to provide assurances to the business community ahead of a migration to the centralised service.
Outcome
Reduced cost of ownership and in many respects an improved level of service from the centralised platform.
